9.-25. September

The first exhibition in RAKE; Anne-Karin Furunes and Fredrik Lund.

RAKE is a new showroom in Elgsetergate 28, and on Friday the 9th, the time has come for the opening exhibition. RAKE will be a communicator of architecture and fine arts, and aims to be a meeting point for the city’s art- and architecture-communities, and in addition to this, contribute to increase the knowledge concerning what art and architecture can be.

Ann-Karin Furunes and Fredrik Lund have been friends and colleges for a long time. The both studied architecture at NTNU, and today hold positions as professors of fine arts at The Art Academy in Trondheim, and The Faculty of Architecture at NTNU, respectively. Furunes studied further at The Art Academy in both Oslo and Trondheim, and have in recent years had exhibitions in New York and Venice, among other cities, and was the subject of large retrospective exhibition at Trondheim Art Museum last year. In addition to his position as professor of architecture, Lund also runs his private architecture practice, Studio Fredrik Lund. With his characteristic style of drawing, Fredrik has won numerous architecture contests, among them, city development projects in Malmø, Gothenburg, Narvik and Drammen.

The first exhibition at RAKE revolves around the meeting between Anne-Karin Furunes’ confronting portraits, and Fredrik Lund’s spontaneous, site-specific works. By inviting Fredrik and Anne-Karin to exhibit, RAKE wishes to put focus on the meeting between architecture and fine art from the onset of the showroom’s existence.
